Making a logo is simple and easy with MidJourney. However, it could take more time than you expect if you’re looking for something specific.

When you’ve finished that, go to the discord channel and go to the Newbies 50 channel.

Let’s imagine our channel is a mountain climbing channel. Let’s type in our first prompt.

Prompt: Draw a man climbing a mountain, in a circle

Because a lot of thumbnails are circular like on YouTube, Facebook, or Twitter, it’s best to use the in-a-circle command. It makes your image more organic.

While the first attempt was surprisingly good, we can do better.

There are two options we should try. The woodcut, and the woodblock print. Trial and error is key with MidJourney. Let’s try both and compare. Whenever you are making art, it is usually a good idea to find similar concepts. For this example, since we are making a hiking channel, then it makes sense to add a wood theme because the channel will be about hiking in the woods.

I think the woodblock print is much better, let’s try it again and let’s add more detail

The result isn’t bad but the mountains don’t look right. Let’s add some more detail to the original prompt,

This is starting to take shape. The next part is to add some color to the image. Let’s add in a blue sky and green trees.

I think the third version is the best. Let’s generate 4 variations by pushing V3.

Version 3 is the best. You’ll notice that in some of the other versions, the man doesn’t have arms. This happens a lot with AI-generated art. It might take some time to get the art you want.

For some reason, it didn’t upscale the exact one that I’m looking for. Either way, I still think the end product is great. As you can see it took a little bit of time to get the result we wanted. Sometimes when you’re working, you have to go back and do things again and again until you get the product you want.

Let’s recap. We wanted to make a logo for our Youtube Channel about hiking. We wanted to theme the logo with a woodblock print because it is creative and thematically similar. We experimented with different details and colors. In the end, we have a rock-solid image.
